The day starts with the drive itself. You leave Vancouver and cruise the Sea to Sky Highway—a route famous for ocean views and mountain peaks that shift with every mile. Your guide shares local insight as you go, turning what could be a long transfer into the opening act. The road hugs the coast before climbing into the ranges, and the narration keeps pace with the landscape.
Shannon Falls arrives about halfway through the morning. It's a 1,100-foot waterfall, and the walk from the parking area is short and easy—just enough to get you close enough to feel the mist and hear the thunder of water hitting the rocks below. This is one of BC's most powerful natural sights, and the stop gives you time to stand in front of it without rushing.
The Sea to Sky Gondola is next. You ride to soaring viewpoints over Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains. At the summit, scenic trails and the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge are yours to explore at your own pace—no steep climbs required. The panoramic views of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain spread out below. (Note: the gondola closes for maintenance from November 12–24, 2025, and the tour price adjusts accordingly for those dates; your guide will arrange a refund on-site if the gondola is unexpectedly closed on your departure day.)
Whistler Village gets three hours of free time. It's a pedestrian-only alpine hub with boutiques, cafés, and restaurants built around mountain views. You can shop, eat, or just walk the cobblestone streets and soak up the atmosphere. The village is where Whistler's après-ski energy lives, even in summer. The day ends with a stop at Porteau Cove for a final photo moment before the drive back to Vancouver.
