The Experience
The bus picks you up near the cruise ship terminal or your hotel and heads north through downtown Vancouver, where the guide covers the city's film industry history—Vancouver shoots hundreds of productions yearly. Stanley Park comes early in the route, then the tour climbs to Cypress Mountain, the only stop on this route that gives you a panoramic view of the entire city, mountains, water and islands from one vantage point. From there it's a straight shot up the Sea-to-Sky Highway toward Whistler.
Shannon Falls, BC's third highest waterfall, is a walk-up stop where you leave the bus and approach the cascade on foot. After that comes free time in Whistler Village to explore on your own; the Peak 2 Peak Gondola is there if you want it, but it costs extra and is not part of the tour. The return to Vancouver takes the same highway south, and you're back at your starting point after nine hours total.
The bus is a clean, spacious mini-bus, and the guide is knowledgeable and entertaining. Bottled water is included. Gratuities are optional. If you're staying at a hotel in Vancouver or arriving by cruise ship, pickup is included; if you're elsewhere in the city, ask about meeting points when you book.
