The Experience

The North Shore takes up the first couple of hours—old-growth forest, natural pools and waterfalls, with your guide showing you how to frame and expose each scene. After that, you head to Granville Island's market for lunch, where you'll photograph some of the hidden corners most visitors miss. The pace is built around the light and the locations, not a clock.

Stanley Park comes next, with stops at the totem poles and viewpoints that open up the city and the water. By late afternoon you're at English Bay waiting for the sunset—the guide will help you position yourself and dial in your settings so you actually capture what you see instead of what your camera defaults to. Then Gastown after dark, walking the cobblestone streets past the Steam Clock, where the night light changes how everything photographs.

You can bring any camera—phone, point-and-shoot, mirrorless, DSLR—or borrow a DSLR from the guide if you want to try one. The guide adjusts the walking and hiking to your fitness level and any physical limitations you mention ahead of time, so the day works whether you're here for a week or just passing through.
