The experience

The tour leaves Granville Island at sunset and takes you across False Creek toward English Bay, where the lit kayaks turn the water into a moving light show. Your equipment glows as you paddle, the kayak itself streaks with color, so you're not just watching the city lights reflect off the water. You're creating them. The whole outing runs about an hour and a half, which is long enough to move through two distinct sections of water without the evening getting too cold or the novelty wearing thin.

A live guide leads the group and handles the route, so you're free to focus on paddling and the view. All the gear comes with you (kayak or stand-up paddleboard, life jacket, and whatever else floats the boat), so there's nothing to rent separately or figure out beforehand. The guide speaks English and keeps the pace steady enough that moderate fitness is all you need. This isn't a race across the bay.
