The experience
The tour runs four hours and departs daily during the summer season, timed to catch the Salish Sea at golden hour. The captain and crew have operated here since 2003 and share current whale and wildlife research as you travel. Small personal groups mean you're not competing for sightlines, and the boat stays focused on encounters rather than rushing between stops.
You'll wear a floatation suit for both safety and warmth on the water. The evening light works in your favor: it's the best time for photographs with family, and the whales themselves are often more active as the day cools. The Salish Sea ecosystem supports Biggs Killer Whales, Humpbacks, Pacific White-Sided Dolphins, Sea Lions, Harbour Seals and Bald Eagles, though sightings vary by the day and the season.
