The experience
The helicopter ride is the first half of the day. You'll see the Canadian Rockies from above: snowy peaks, frozen lakes, and glaciers spread out below as the pilot flies you into the high alpine. The landing spot is either a high alpine meadow buried under more than 2 meters of snow or the confluence where Cline River and Waterfalls Creek meet. From there, you step out into the winter landscape and begin the snowshoe trek.
The snowshoe walk itself takes an hour and leads to a frozen waterfall. Halfway through, you stop in the wilderness for a complimentary hot chocolate with Irish cream: a real break in the middle of the snow. Once you've warmed up and finished the trek back to the helicopter, you climb aboard for the flight down to base. The whole outing runs about 90 minutes, and you pick whether you want the shorter 20-minute flight, the 30-minute option, or the full 55-minute ride that covers more ground from the air.
The activity suits families and pairs alike. Infants can come along (they sit on an adult's lap), and service animals are welcome. You'll need at least a moderate level of fitness for the snowshoeing, and there's a two-person minimum for any departure.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the difference between the three flight options?
The 20-minute, 30-minute, and 55-minute flights cover different amounts of the Canadian Rockies from the air before landing at the alpine meadow or river confluence. The snowshoe walk to the frozen waterfall stays the same length regardless of which flight you choose.
Is the hot chocolate really included, or is that an extra charge?
Hot chocolate with Irish cream is complimentary and served during the snowshoe trek as a warmup break halfway through the walk.
Can young children do this activity?
Yes, infants and small children can ride in the helicopter (infants sit on an adult's lap), though they won't snowshoe. The activity is designed for families, and service animals are allowed.
How much snow is actually on the ground where you land?
The landing site has over 2 meters of snow, so you're snowshoeing through deep winter conditions in the high alpine.
Do I need snowshoe experience to do this?
No prior snowshoe experience is required, but you should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness for the one-hour trek in deep snow.
