The experience

The driver picks you up from your hotel and heads straight to Wat Phnom, where the city's history begins. You'll spend about twenty minutes there learning how the capital took shape. From there the route moves through the Royal Palace compound (viewable from outside, entry available if you request it during booking hours), then to the Independence Monument at the city center, a memorial to Cambodia's 1953 independence from France.
