The experience
The tour starts in darkness. Your guide picks you up from the hotel and drives to Angkor Wat, arriving early enough to position the group before sunrise breaks over the temple's central towers. As light fills the complex, you move through the stone galleries and courtyards at a pace set by the group, not rushed, not lingering. The minivan stays air-conditioned between stops, and the guide carries cold water and wipes for the heat.
From Angkor Wat, you head to Bayon, the temple at the heart of Angkor Thom City, where massive carved faces of Buddha look out from the stone towers. The bas-reliefs here tell stories in carved detail across the walls. Next is Ta Prohm, the temple known for its jungle overgrowth: massive tree roots grip the stones and vines drape across doorways. You walk through the tangle of stone and vegetation, stopping for photos at the gates of Angkor Thom on the way back. The whole day runs six to eight hours.
A local guide and a photography guide travel with the group, and the minivan handles all transport between sites. The tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off, toll roads, parking, and cold water throughout the day. You'll need to dress modestly (knees and shoulders covered) to enter the temples, and walking shoes are essential for the uneven stone paths and tree roots.

Is this one for you?The early start is what puts you at Angkor Wat before the crowds arrive and the heat peaks. If you're willing to wake before dawn, the sunrise and the quieter morning hours at each temple make the pace manageable even in the heat.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (13 to 17 years); Child (6 to 12 years); Infant (1 to 5 years).
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What time does the sunrise tour start at Angkor Wat?
The tour picks you up from your hotel before dawn so you arrive at Angkor Wat early enough to watch the sunrise flood the temple's towers. The exact pickup time depends on your hotel location and the season, but you'll be positioned well before the sun breaks the horizon.
What are the Buddha faces temple and the jungle temple on this tour?
Bayon is the temple in the heart of Angkor Thom City, famous for the massive carved faces of Buddha that look out from its towers and the intricate bas-reliefs carved into its walls. Ta Prohm is known for its jungle overgrowth: enormous tree roots grip the ancient stones and vines drape across doorways and galleries, creating the effect of nature reclaiming the ruins.
How much walking is involved in this tour?
You walk through each temple complex at a moderate pace set by the group, moving between courtyards, galleries and carved chambers. The terrain is uneven stone and tree roots, especially at Ta Prohm, so sturdy walking shoes are necessary. The minivan transports you between the three main sites, so you're not walking between temples.
What's included in the tour price?
Hotel pickup and drop-off, transport in an air-conditioned minivan, a local guide and photography guide, toll roads, parking, cold water and wipes are all included. Breakfast, lunch, drinks, gratuities and the Angkor Park entrance fee are separate.
What should I wear to visit these temples?
Knees and shoulders must be covered for both men and women to enter the temples: no shorts or sleeveless tops. Wear comfortable walking shoes or sneakers because the paths are uneven stone and tree roots. Bring sunblock and mosquito repellent for the outdoor sections of the day.
What's the minimum group size for this tour?
A minimum of three people per booking is required. You'll travel with other small-group participants in the minivan, and the guide leads all of you through the temples together.
