- Visit Quadrado square and Church of São João
- Visit Church of São João Batista
- Relax at Praia dos Coqueiros beach
- Tour Finos Di Porto Chocolate Factory and tasting
The experience
The day starts with pickup from your Porto Seguro hotel and a drive to Trancoso's Quadrado, the rectangular plaza that sits at the top of a plateau and fills with leafy trees. The Church of São João Batista anchors the square: built in 1650, it's the landmark around which the colorful colonial houses cluster. You'll have time to walk the Quadrado itself, where the bars, restaurants and shops occupy those painted buildings and the plaza becomes the social center of the village.
From there the route moves to Praia dos Coqueiros, a beach stretched beneath a huge strip of coconut palms. The water stays calm and shallow, full of reefs that become visible when the tide drops. You can see them clearly from the sand without entering the water. The turquoise color and the reef system make it distinct from the open Atlantic beaches elsewhere on the coast.
The final stop is Finos Di Porto Chocolate Factory, located on the BR-367 near the Convention Center in Porto Seguro. The factory is an agro-industry that grows cacao for direct consumption and production. At the tasting, you'll sample multiple flavors in the store: a dedicated space for exhibition, purchase and tasting of the chocolates made on-site. The tour wraps with the return drive to your hotel. Air-conditioned vehicles and trained drivers handle the transport throughout.
