The experience
The tour picks you up from your hotel and travels southeast along CE 040, stopping first at Centro das Rendeiras for about half an hour to browse local crafts. Then it continues to Morro Branco, where the cliffs rise in shades of orange and rust, shaped by wind and water into a maze of natural passages and ridges. You walk among these formations and see the colorful sand deposits the region is known for: layers of pigmented earth that have accumulated over time.
From there, the route heads to Praia das Fontes, where freshwater springs feed into the beach and the landscape opens to sand and sea. The tour gives you time to swim, rest or eat at one of the restaurants and bars along the shore. Showers and bathrooms are available. If you want to explore further, you can arrange a buggy ride through the dunes and springs on the spot. This costs extra and is not part of the main tour. The whole outing runs about six hours from pickup to return.
Transport is in an air-conditioned vehicle, and the guide speaks Portuguese throughout. The tour is wheelchair accessible, and strollers, infant seats and service animals are all accommodated. Anything you order to eat or drink at Praia das Fontes is settled directly with the establishment, not included in the tour price.
