The experience
You start at Praça do Japão in Batel and follow the bike paths that link Curitiba's green spaces. The route covers Public Gardens, Pope's Grove, São Lourenço Park, the Wire Opera and Quarry Paulo Leminski, Tanguá Park, Tingui Park with its Ukrainian Memorial, and Barigui Park before returning to the starting point. The 220 km network means you stay on dedicated paths instead of sharing roads with traffic.
A live guide rides with the group the whole time, speaking English, Spanish or Portuguese depending on the group. The guide points out the monuments and explains the ethnic heritage each one honors: the Japanese plaza, the Ukrainian memorial, and others that mark the communities that shaped the region. Groups stay small, so the pace stays manageable and the guide can answer questions along the way.
Mountain bikes are provided, and the three-hour loop is timed to fit a morning or afternoon without eating the whole day. The route ends where it started, so you can head to lunch or another part of the city afterward.
What’s included
- Mountain bike rental (29-inch).
- guide riding with the group throughout.
- access to Curitiba's 220 km bike path network connecting all seven parks and memorials.
