The experience
The walk starts on the old Bermuda Railway Trails that cut through the center of the island, then branches onto tribe roads and back streets most tourists skip. A local guide leads the route, pointing out the island's topography (the way the land rises and falls), and the foliage that fills the 38-acre estate you'll hike through. That estate holds a network of trees and plants you won't find on the main roads, and it's where you'll listen for the long-tail birds moving through the nature reserve in their natural habitat.
The southern coastal stretch brings you to the pink sand beaches beneath limestone cliffs that tower over the Atlantic. The water is clear enough to photograph, and the cliffs frame the view in a way the resort beaches don't. From there, the route moves inland through the colorful pastel neighborhoods where locals live and work: the kind of streets where people wave back when you wave first. The walk covers ground, so a moderate level of fitness keeps the pace manageable. The whole loop runs three hours.
Two time slots run daily: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A minimum of two people books the tour. Public transportation options sit nearby if you need them to reach the starting point, and a live guide speaks English throughout.

What is the old Bermuda Railway Trail and why does it matter to this walk?
