Brussels bike tour: Grand Place, Royal Palace & more
Pedal through Brussels's best squares and neighborhoods in one morning
A 3.5-hour guided bike tour of Brussels covers eight stops across the city—the Grand Place, Royal Palace, Manneken Pis, the European Parliament, Grand Sablon Square and more—with a live Dutch-speaking guide, a free waffle and water at Manneken Pis, and a half-hour break for Belgian fries. The pace stays light with short stops and fun facts instead of long explanations, and kids from age 8 can ride along.

The Experience
The tour rolls out to the Grand Place first, the centerpiece square of Brussels, then heads to Manneken Pis for a 15-minute break where you get a hot waffle and bottle of water included. From there the route swings through Matongé, the colorful African neighborhood, before passing the Royal Palace with its gold-trimmed gates. You'll see the European Parliament building and the newer "giant egg" structure with windows representing all 28 EU countries, then stop for a half hour at a famous chip shop where over 100 people regularly sit down for fries—you can eat them at nearby cafés and restaurants on the square if you prefer.
The second half takes you through the Volkswijk area with its daily flea market, then into Grand Sablon Square, a wealthy district packed with antique shops, art galleries and chocolatiers. The tour finishes in the modern office district with its chic hotels and the UFO, the city's most futuristic building. The whole route covers the neighborhoods most visitors want to see, and the guide keeps things moving with short stops and fun facts rather than long speeches.
You'll ride your own bike the whole way, and the tour suits all fitness levels. Specialized infant seats are available if you're bringing very young children, though kids need to be at least 8 years old to join. Public transportation options are nearby if you need them, and you'll get a praline along with the waffle and water included in the price.
