Step-by-step itinerary

Snorkelling and exploring Barbados

  • Snorkel at Hayden Browne Beach
  • Visit Speightstown town
  • Enjoy food and rum punch at The Caboose
  • Drive along Cherry Tree Hill

The experience

Hayden Browne Beach is the core of the day. You enter the water with an experienced guide, full snorkeling gear and a life jacket, and spend time exploring the reef in waters known for their clarity and marine life. The guide leads you through the underwater landscape where you watch for colorful fish, sea turtles, and occasionally dolphins. All equipment is provided, so you need only show up able to swim. The guide adjusts the pace and depth to your comfort.

After the water, the tour moves to Speightstown, a port town on the northwest coast that retains its colonial architecture and narrow streets from its days as a trading hub. You walk through the town at your own pace, visiting the Speightstown Museum to learn the history, browsing local shops and galleries, or simply sitting in one of the cafes. The Caboose, a food stand in Heywoods Village, is a 20-minute stop where the owner Wayne cooks and tells stories about his fishing life while you taste his homemade rum punch made with fresh fruit juice and local rum. From there, the route takes you along Cherry Tree Hill, a scenic drive through a mahogany forest that overlooks the Scotland District, a hilly region that resembles the Scottish Highlands.

Hotel pickup and air-conditioned transport are included throughout. Bottled water is provided, and the guide speaks English. The full day runs between 4 and 5 hours, paced so that no single stop feels rushed.
