The experience
The crew at the dock knew exactly who we were before we arrived. That's the thing about Good Times Too. It's twenty people maximum, not two hundred, so the captain and his team actually remember the names. We picked up from the west coast, which meant we left earlier than the bigger operations and hit the turtle site while it was still quiet. The water was clear enough to see the reef below, and there were turtles moving through like they owned the place, which I guess they do.
The snorkeling happened in two spots. First came the turtles: a guide went in the water with us, pointing out where they were feeding and keeping the group calm and spread out so we weren't crowding them. After that we moved to the reef, where the fish were so thick and colorful it felt like swimming through an aquarium someone had left the door open on. The whole thing took about three hours in the water, with the boat anchored and the crew keeping an eye on everyone. Between swims there was time to sit on deck, dry off, and the open bar started flowing: rum punch, beer, soft drinks, whatever you wanted.
Lunch came around midday: a Bajan buffet with fresh fish, baked chicken, pasta, rice, and salads that actually tasted like they'd been made that morning.
