Step-by-step itinerary

  • Tour Palace of the Shirvanshahs
  • Explore Maiden Tower and museum
  • Visit Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum
  • Ride Baku Ferris Wheel for views
  • Enjoy gondola ride in Little Venice

The Experience

The tour starts with a professional guide who leads you through Baku's most recognizable landmarks. You'll visit the Maiden Tower, a 12th-century UNESCO site rising from the walled inner city, where you can climb to views of the Caspian Sea and the surrounding skyline. The Palace of the Shirvanshahs, built starting in 1411, opens its five distinct sections—including the stone Divankhana pavilion, the mausoleum and the Palace Mosque with its 26-room bath house—so you walk through centuries of Azerbaijani architecture and tradition without needing to arrange entry separately.

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum holds one of the world's largest rug collections, with some 10,000 items displayed across newly renovated halls. You'll see weaving techniques and materials spanning the nation's history, including 600 carpets from the Shusha collection. After the museum, the tour takes you to the Baku Ferris Wheel on the boulevard overlooking the Caspian, built for Eurovision 2012 and now one of the city's most visible attractions. Wine and baklava tasting happen during the tour, paired with tea, so you're tasting as you move between stops rather than sitting down for a separate meal.

Throughout the day you get bottled water to stay hydrated, a professional photographer capturing moments at each site, and free entry to Highland Park, one of Baku's most scenic spots. The guide shares the history, culture and stories behind each place. If you choose the option that includes it, Little Venice—a small reconstructed town with stone bridges, gondolas and restaurants along the Caspian—and Shirvansahlar Palace are added to the route. The vehicle is air-conditioned, and the pace suits all fitness levels, including families with infants in strollers.
