The experience

You start at the bus stop across from Hotel Windsor at Parliament Station in Melbourne's CBD, arriving by 8:45 AM. The 60-minute drive takes you out through vineyard country into the Yarra Valley, and your guide gets a collaborative Spotify playlist going. Everyone adds their own songs. Water is on board, and you're welcome to bring your own food and drinks.

The day moves through four tasting venues. First is a small family-run boutique vineyard where you try 5–6 wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz, plus their Pink Lady Apple Cider. Next is a 40-acre Italian-style estate with some of the valley's best wines, often tasted outdoors on the terrace. Then comes your choice: either a full lunch at St Huberts with a bistro menu and optional wine and whisky tastings, or a lighter lounge experience at Domaine Chandon with sparkling wine and views. The guide splits the group if people want different venues. After lunch, you pick again: gin paddles at Four Pillars (4 gins with mixer, included), an intimate wine tasting of 5 wines at Payten & Jones, or 4 craft beers on a paddle at Watts River. Groups can split across all three.

The final stop is a private 25-minute chocolate tasting at Yarra Valley Chocolaterie in a dedicated room, where you sample 10–12 chocolates and then have free time to browse and buy. If chocolate isn't your thing, you can choose a glass of wine with panoramic vineyard views instead. The bus returns you to Parliament Station or Hotel Windsor between 4:50 PM and 5:15 PM depending on traffic. Groups run 10–20 people on the main 24-seat bus or up to 13 on a smaller van.
