The experience
The transfer departs Ayers Rock Resort and heads toward Kings Canyon, passing through Curtin Springs, a working cattle station run by the same family since 1956. Along this stretch you'll see Atila (Mt. Conner), a landmark often confused with Uluru itself. The driver-guide shares the history of the region and the cattle stations as you travel, so the drive is not just transit but context for the landscape you're moving through.
Breakfast happens at Kings Creek Station partway through the journey, breaking up the drive and giving you a chance to stretch. The coach is air-conditioned, and the whole trip takes about 4 hours before you arrive at Kings Canyon Resort around 9:00 am. From April 2027, entry to Watarrka National Park is included in the tour price, so there's no separate pass to buy at the gate.
If you want to do more than arrive, the operator offers an optional guided Kings Canyon Rim Walk once you reach the resort, letting you explore the canyon with an expert rather than on your own. That's a choice you can make at checkout depending on how much time and energy you have for the day.
