The Experience

I still remember how weird it felt — one minute I was half-asleep in the bus from Yulara, the next I was squinting up at Uluru, that huge ochre wall just sitting there like it’s always been. Our guide, Jess (she grew up nearby), handed me a helmet and grinned. “Ever ridden a Segway?” Honestly, no — I nearly toppled over at first.
