The experience
You start at your hotel, where the guide picks you up and drives you to Uluru. Once there, the guide teaches you how to ride a Segway, no prior experience needed, then leads you on a cruise around the most scenic quarter of Uluru's massive base. You'll learn about local Aboriginal culture, nature and history as you move, and stop to photograph the rock from angles most visitors never reach. The helmet and safety equipment are provided.
After the Segway ride, you walk to the Mutitjulu waterhole, Uluru's largest. Here you get close enough to touch the rock and see ancient Aboriginal rock art carved into it. The guide explains the cultural stories connected to this place, told by the Anangu people who have lived here for thousands of years. Some of the art is inside caves you can enter.
The final leg is the Mala Walk, a guided exploration of more caves and rock art sites. You'll visit the Kantju gorge, a striking natural formation, and learn what these places were traditionally used for. The walk stays on foot and covers the remaining highlights of the area. If you book the sunset option, the tour finishes at the base of Uluru with a glass of sparkling wine and picnic nibbles while the rock changes color as the sun drops: a chance to photograph Uluru at its most dramatic.

The activity is not recommended for travelers over 65, those with serious spinal injuries, pregnant travelers, or anyone with poor cardiovascular health or vision/balance impairments that would affect Segway riding.
Does the price include the National Park entry fee?
The National Park entry fee is not included in the tour price, so you'll need to pay it separately when you arrive at Uluru.
