The experience
You start on the beach near Portsea with an informative presentation and a hands-on demonstration of snorkeling basics: how to use the equipment, the terminology you'll hear, and how to communicate underwater. If you want to go deeper, the guide will also show you free diving skills so you can duck dive down close to the marine life. Then it's a short walk into the water, where the real part begins.
Port Phillip Bay holds Weedy Sea Dragons, puffer fish, smooth rays, sponge life and more. You'll always have a life ring within reach during the snorkel, and if you're not a confident swimmer, a buoyant wetsuit keeps you supported and comfortable. The whole experience runs about two hours from start to finish. Bring your swimmers, a towel and sunscreen. The guide and all snorkeling equipment are included.
