Rottnest Island Lobster Fishing Seafood Cruise & Feast
Lobster pot pulling and seven-course seafood feast onboard cruise
A seafood cruise from Perth to Rottnest Island where you fish for Western Rock Lobster by hand, then watch a private chef prepare a 7-course banquet of local seafood served with unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks aboard the luxury vessel Crusader III. The full day runs 9.5 hours, including the return ferry from Rottnest Island at 4:30pm, arriving back in Perth around 6pm. Minimum age is 13; a moderate level of physical fitness is needed.
The Experience
Nine and a half hours on the water means you leave Perth with the return ferry timed so you're back by early evening. The boat is the Crusader III, a luxury vessel with an open lower deck, upper viewing deck, front sun lounge and interior cabin — enough space to move around between fishing and eating. You'll pull up pots of Western Rock Lobster yourself, learning about this delicacy from the crew as you work, then hand over your catch to be prepared. The lobster comes off the barbecue hot, plated alongside other fresh seafood in a 7-course menu designed around what's local and in season.
The meal unfolds as you cruise, with a private onboard chef handling the cooking and unlimited West Australian wine, beer and soft drinks flowing throughout. Between courses, you can swim off the boat in a pristine bay or stay onboard and take in the views — Rottnest Island is a Class-A nature reserve with turquoise water and a fishing heritage that shapes everything served at the table. The whole rhythm is built around relaxation: this reads like a private dinner party that happens to float.
