The experience

The shuttle picks you up from an inner Melbourne meeting point and drives 90 minutes south through vineyards and countryside to Peninsula Hot Springs. Once there, you walk straight past the entry queue (the priority access is part of the booking), and into the Bath House. The 50 bathing experiences range from hot carbonate pools to cold plunge tanks, saunas, steam rooms and specialty thermal baths, each one fed by geothermal water pumped from beneath the peninsula. You move between them at your own pace. Cafes and kiosks dot the grounds if you want snacks or a meal. You can also bring your own food.

After your time in the pools, the driver takes you to Arthurs Seat for a scenic drive up to the lookout: on clear days you can see across the peninsula and back toward Melbourne. Then you stop at the colourful beach boxes for photos before the return journey to Melbourne, arriving around 3 pm. The whole day runs about 6.5 hours from pickup to drop-off, with the bathing time unscheduled so you're not watching a clock in the pools.
