An evening painting class in Byron Bay where you work with acrylic, canvas and brushes while sipping wine and watching the sunset over the coast. All art materials are provided. You leave with a finished painting. The class runs three hours and welcomes ages 12 and up, with a live English-speaking guide leading the group through the basics of composition and color.

The experience

The studio sits by the sea, and the class is built around the light. You arrive with your own wine or beer, pour a glass, and spend the evening learning to paint on canvas while the sun moves across the water. The guide walks through the fundamentals (how to hold the brush, mix colors, build a composition), and then steps back to let you work. There's no experience required. The point is to make something, not to be perfect at it.

All the materials are there: acrylic paint, brushes, canvas, and everything else you need to work. The studio has fridges and bottle openers, so your drink stays cold. You can bring snacks too. Three hours is long enough to finish a real painting (something you'll actually want to hang) without feeling rushed. By the time the light fades, you have a piece to take home.
