The experience
You walk out onto the tarmac and stand in front of your helicopter for photos before boarding. The flight lasts 20 minutes total and covers the whole arc of Melbourne in one pass: starting with the city skyline and the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel at just 1,200 feet, then banking left toward Port Phillip Bay. The Spirit of Tasmania sits docked at Station Pier as you pass, and the route continues along the coast over St Kilda's famous Boardwalk and Luna Park, where you can see the rides and the beach below.
From there the flight path swings inland over the Formula 1 track at Albert Park Lake, then climbs past the Shrine of Remembrance and the Royal Botanic Gardens. The final stretch brings you over Rod Laver Arena and the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where the angle lets you frame the MCG, Yarra River and CBD all in one photograph. The Bose headsets cut engine noise so you can hear your pilot's commentary and talk to other passengers without shouting.
You choose your group size at checkout. The helicopter holds 2 to 6 people, and everyone gets a window seat. In-flight video recording is available as an add-on if you want footage of the flight itself, and the operator can arrange a surprise proposal package if you contact them in advance.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. No refund if you cancel.
What's the actual flight time, and how much of it is over water versus the city?
The flight is 20 minutes total. You start over the Melbourne CBD and the Melbourne Star, then fly out to Port Phillip Bay and along the St Kilda coast before turning back inland over Albert Park, the Shrine of Remembrance, the Royal Botanic Gardens and the MCG, so roughly half the route crosses water and half crosses the city and parks.
Can I really see the MCG, the Yarra River and the CBD all in one shot from the helicopter?
Yes. The flight path ends over the MCG, and the angle at that point lets you capture the stadium, the river and the city skyline together in a single frame. It's the last stop before you head back to the landing pad.
Do I need to book the video recording, or does the flight come with footage?
The in-flight video recording is an optional add-on you can choose at checkout. Without it, you get the flight itself and time to take your own photos from the helicopter and in front of it on the tarmac.
What if I want to propose during the flight?
The operator offers a surprise proposal package, but you'll need to contact them directly to arrange it. It's not a standard booking option and requires advance coordination.
Is there a weight limit or fitness requirement to fly?
The flight is suitable for all physical fitness levels. Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller, and all areas are wheelchair accessible, including the aircraft itself.
