Either way, you ride electric bikes from Moana Beach toward McLaren Vale for about 45 minutes, stopping for coffee once you arrive. The e-bikes do the climbing for you, so the fitness level matters less than the willingness to be on two wheels—the operator notes the tour suits all physical fitness levels, though it is not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health.

Once you reach the wine region, the bikes go onto a trailer and you board a minibus. This is the pivot: no one loses their driver's license, and the guide takes over the route.
