Coast to Vines is a full-day activity in McLaren Vale combining an e-bike ride along the coastline, stand-up paddle boarding on the Onkaparinga River, and a wine tasting at a local vineyard. You choose between the e-bike option (meeting at Moana) or a SUP and wine tour with hotel pickup. A live English-speaking guide leads the whole day, which runs about seven and a half hours and includes all gear; lunch is on your own but the operator will give you options when they contact you to confirm.

The Experience

The day starts at 41a Third Ave in Moana at 9:00 am (or with hotel pickup if you book the second option), and the first move is the e-bike ride along the coast to the Onkaparinga River. The e-bikes travel on a trailer while you ride the scenic stretch, arriving at the water by 10:00 am for stand-up paddle board lessons. You get the board, paddle, and a wetsuit; the river is where you spend the next couple of hours learning and paddling before heading back to shower and change.

Lunch happens at 1:15 pm at a local eatery—not included in the price, but the operator will send you a menu of options when they reach out after you book. By 2:30 pm you're at the wine tasting, where you sample wines from McLaren Vale vineyards. The wine tasting fee is usually $15, though it's free if you buy a bottle. The tour wraps at 4:30 pm, and the driver can take you back to your accommodation (one location) no matter which option you chose.

The two options let you shape the day around your fitness and interests. The e-bike option means you meet at Moana and handle your own transport there; the SUP and wine tour skips the coastal ride but includes hotel pickup, so you start from where you're staying. Both follow the same itinerary from the paddle board onward.
