The Experience
The tour departs Adelaide and crosses to Kangaroo Island by ferry, then a local guide drives you through the island's main attractions in a coach. Day 1 starts after lunch with a guided walk at Seal Bay Conservation Park, where a National Park Ranger leads you among a breeding colony of wild Australian sea lions on the beach. From there you move to Raptor Domain for a free-flight birds of prey presentation—an interactive display where raptors fly overhead and handlers explain their behavior.
The afternoon takes you into Flinders Chase National Park, where you walk around Remarkable Rocks (a cluster of granite boulders on the coast offering photo stops) and Admirals Arch, a boardwalk that descends a cliff face to a natural rock archway where long-nosed fur seals shelter. The park regenerated quickly after the 2020 fires, so you'll see new growth alongside echidnas, wallabies, and koalas. Before overnight accommodation, you visit Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park to hand-feed kangaroos and meet the island's koalas while a keeper talks about them.
Day 2 begins with another session at Raptor Domain, then moves to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery for a two-course lunch and a guided tour of how the oil is made, with time in the shop afterward. Next is Clifford's Honey Farm, where you see a working beehive, learn about Kangaroo Island Ligurian honey varieties, and sample honey products. The final stop is False Cape Wines for a structured wine tasting overlooking the vineyards, before the return ferry to Adelaide.

What's the difference between the three accommodation options on this tour?
You choose at checkout between KI Seafront Hotel, Aurora Ozone, or Mercure KI Lodge, each available in single or double rooms depending on the option. All three are on Kangaroo Island and included in the tour price; the choice is yours based on preference and availability.
Do I need to be fit for the walks at Flinders Chase and Seal Bay?
The tour suits all physical fitness levels. The Seal Bay walk is guided and happens on a beach with a ranger; the Flinders Chase walks around Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch are moderate boardwalk and coastal paths, not strenuous hikes.
What happens if I arrive late to Adelaide or need a different pickup point?
Selected Adelaide CBD hotels offer pickup and drop-off on request—mention your hotel when you book. The tour departs on a fixed schedule, so confirm your pickup time when you arrange it.
Are meals and drinks included, or do I need to budget for food?
Breakfast and lunch are included on both days. The two-course lunch at Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery is part of the tour. Drinks, snacks, and dinner are not included, so budget for those separately.
What's the Raptor Domain presentation actually like?
Raptor Domain runs the only free-flight birds of prey presentation in South Australia—raptors fly overhead during the display rather than staying on perches. It's interactive and educational, with handlers explaining the birds' behavior and abilities. You see it twice on this tour: once on Day 1 afternoon and again on Day 2 morning.
Can I book this tour if I'm traveling on a Tuesday or Thursday?
Yes, but on Tuesday and Thursday departures, accommodation must be at KI Seafront Hotel only. Other days offer all three hotel options.
