The drive itself is the opening act. You follow the Grand Pacific Drive south from Sydney, and the road literally extends out from the coast over the Tasman Sea as you cross the Sea Cliff Bridge. The views are the first thing the day delivers. The route stops at a working apple orchard where you taste hot spiced cider (a seasonal highlight in cooler months), then moves to a small organic biodynamic dairy for cheese tasting, a chocolate factory with tasters available, and a boutique vineyard for afternoon wine tasting with a view. The vehicle is air-conditioned and WiFi is on board.

Lunch happens in Berry, a country town known for boutique shops and food options. You choose where to eat and what to order. The guide provides interesting commentary throughout the day, and the pace is leisurely enough that the stops hold together without rushing between them. Children from age 10 are welcome.
