A 1-hour jet ski ride through Pumicestone Passage Marine Park on the Sunshine Coast, where you pilot your own ski 30 km along Bribie Island's western bank to Lighthouse Reach. An expert guide teaches you the machine, runs you through safety, and stays in radio contact the whole way. All gear, instruction and photographs are included.

The experience

You start with a full safety briefing and instruction from an expert guide who sizes up your comfort level and adjusts the pace to match it. Once you're familiar with the controls, you'll throttle out onto the protected waters and follow the guide's lead down the western bank of Bribie Island. The route covers 30 km of open water at speeds up to 55 kph, with the guide staying in constant contact through intercom headsets built into your helmet.

Lighthouse Reach, a local hideaway tucked into the waterway, is where the ride opens up. This is the freestyle area: the place where you get to feel the machine's agility and power in what the operator calls "hot laps." The guide leads, but you control the throttle and the line you take. Between the speed and the handling, this is where the adrenaline peaks.

The guide shares the area's history as you ride: the geological links to the ancient Glasshouse Mountains volcanoes, the local knowledge of the waterway itself. You'll get professional photographs of the ride, and the whole experience wraps in about an hour from the time you leave the dock.
