Step-by-step itinerary
Private full day Barossa Valley tour
- Travel in luxury Land Cruiser Prado
- Visit preferred wineries for tastings
- Enjoy personalized lunch at winery
- Option for behind the scenes barrel tasting
The experience
What makes this tour different is the relationship the drivers have built with local winemakers. Because they work the region regularly and know the people behind the labels, they can arrange access to barrel tastings and cellar tours that don't appear on standard itineraries: subject to the day and the winery's schedule. You pick the wineries you want to visit or let your driver suggest a route based on what you're after: a particular style, a producer you've heard about, or a mix of the valley's range. The flexibility is real. You're not following a set schedule through four stops.
The tour runs 8 hours including travel time, and you move between wineries in a luxury Land Cruiser Prado or similar, which means no one in your group is driving after tastings. Wine tasting fees at the operator's choice of wineries are included. If you want to visit a winery outside their usual rotation, tastings there may cost extra. Lunch happens at a venue you choose (Lambert Estate, Fino Seppeltsfield, Harvest Kitchen or another spot), and you cover that cost separately. Your driver is your guide throughout, with deep knowledge of the region and the wines, and provides commentary as you go.
Pickup happens from your accommodation, and the tour is fully private to your group of up to four. Cold bottled water is provided. Because the itinerary is built around your preferences rather than a fixed route, you're not waiting for other groups or compromising on what you want to taste.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (2 to 17 years); Infant (under 2).
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I visit a specific winery that's not on the operator's regular list?
Yes, you can request any winery you prefer. Wine tasting fees at those venues may be charged separately, whereas tastings at the operator's selection of wineries like Kies, Rockfords, Langmeil, Henschke, Torbreck, Gibson and Rusden are included in the tour price.
What does the driver/guide commentary cover?
Your driver is a tour guide with extensive experience and knowledge of the Barossa Valley region, so commentary covers the wines, the winemakers, the valley's history and what makes each stop worth visiting. They speak English and travel with you the whole day.
How do behind-the-scenes barrel tastings work?
The drivers have relationships with some winemakers that allow them to arrange tastings direct from the barrel and cellar tours, but these are subject to availability on the day you visit. Your driver will organize them if possible.
Is lunch included, and where do we eat?
Lunch is not included in the tour price, but your driver will help you choose and book a venue. The operator recommends winery restaurants like Lambert Estate, Fino Seppeltsfield and Harvest Kitchen, or you can pick another spot that suits your group.
How many wineries can we visit in a full day?
The 8-hour tour includes travel time, so the number of stops depends on how long you spend at each winery and how far apart they are. Your driver will suggest a realistic itinerary based on your preferences and the wineries you want to see.
