The day starts with a 90-minute drive from your hotel to Michelini Mufatto, a family winery run by Andrea Mufatto and the Michelini brothers across three countries: Valle de Uco here, Bierzo in Spain and Maldonado in Uruguay. You'll spend 90 minutes touring the vineyard and tasting wines made with what they call an approach of respect, purity and precision. The winery sits in the mountain landscape that defines the region, so bring a camera.

After a 30-minute transfer, you arrive at Corazón Del Sol in Los Chacayes, a winery established in 2008 that pioneered Grenache and Mourvèdre plantings in the area. Another 90 minutes here lets you taste single-vineyard bottlings and blends that reflect the terroir. Then comes a short 15-minute drive to El Paisano, a traditional country house where you'll eat for about an hour: a full Argentine barbecue with typical Mendocinean products and regional delicacies, all served while you look out at the river and the mountains. The return to Mendoza city takes around two hours.
