The experience
You get picked up from your hotel and driven 20 km to Arroyo Angostura on Lake Moreno Oeste, passing through Circuito Chico, the Panoramic Point, Llao Llao Hotel and Puerto Pañuelo on the way. The route itself is part of the experience: you see the landscape before you paddle it. Once at the launch point, your guide covers safety and paddling technique, then you're on the water with a double kayak fitted with a rudder system, which makes steering easier than a standard paddle boat.
From the water, the mountains (Cerro López, Cerro Bella Vista, the Llao Llao hill) sit at eye level instead of above you. You paddle past the Island of the Rabbits and see the Llao Llao Hotel from an angle most visitors never reach. The guide steers the route to match your pace and comfort. Families, couples and groups of friends all run the same activity, but not the same day. Snacks and water come along, and the neoprene gear keeps you warm in the mountain air.
The whole outing takes four hours from pickup to return. Because it's private service, there's no waiting for a group to assemble or a fixed departure time that doesn't fit your schedule. The guide shows up when you're ready and adapts the paddle to what you want from the morning or afternoon.
