The experience
The tour starts at the operator's office with a safety briefing and e-bike adjustment, then heads into the Bahía Enclosed Urban Nature Reserve at the heart of Ushuaia. From there you reach the first panoramic viewpoint of the Beagle Canal with open views across the water and mountains. The assisted bicycles let you climb without exhaustion: the route follows Buena Esperanza Creek into a forest trail, gaining height as the landscape opens up to show the Onashaga Channel and its islands to the south, and the glacier and mountains to the north.
The Wallner Viewpoint is where you stop to take in the scenery and photographs. Beyond it, the trail opens into a clearing of turboils and small lagoons with interpretive signage, and the guide offers a brief explanation of the natural environment. The return follows the same path back to the Laguna del Diablo Urban Nature Reserve, where you stop at a neighborhood café for the included box lunch (a sandwich and non-alcoholic drink) before heading back to the office to close the tour.
Small groups keep the pace unhurried and the route away from the mass tourism circuits that crowd Ushuaia's main attractions. A live guide speaks English, Spanish or French and adjusts the experience to the group's interests. The e-bikes are the key: they let you cover ground and climb elevation without the fitness demand of a standard bicycle, so the focus stays on the landscape and the stops rather than the effort of pedaling.
