The experience
The boat is a custom-built dive and snorkel vessel crafted by Anguilla's Rebel Marine. You decide how the three hours unfold: start with sightseeing if you want the island views first, or slip into the water at one of three reef sites depending on what the conditions favor that day. Pelican Bay Reef and The Pipeline have vibrant marine life in clear water. Little Bay Marine Park offers a sheltered cove and a rock jump for anyone wanting a bit more play in the shallows.
If you choose sightseeing, the boat takes you past Anguilla Arch, a natural rock formation that photographs well, then to Pamead Wreck (a rusted wreck that sits in shallow water and draws snorkelers for its character), and Sandy Island, an offshore cay with white sand and turquoise water where you can wade and relax. An in-water guide is with you the whole time, handling safety and pointing out what lives on the reef. Snorkel gear, life jackets, swim noodles, water, Coke, Sprite, Diet Coke and beer are all on board.
The charter is private, so the timing and the route bend to what you want. If the reef is your only goal, you spend the full three hours in the water across one or two sites. If you want both snorkeling and the sightseeing stops, the guide helps you fit them in.
