Day four is a safari morning in Quiçama National Park, followed by a boat ride to a floating restaurant where you eat Mufete, a local grilled fish dish with sweet potato, banana, cassava and palm oil beans. A second boat ride takes you to Mussulo Island for the night. On the final day you return by boat to the mainland and spend the afternoon in Luanda itself, visiting the Military Museum at the fortress of São Miguel and the Iron Palace, said to have been designed by Gustave Eiffel, to learn about Angola's colonial and modern history.

Is this one for you?Five nights away means you need a full week in Angola, but the route covers the country's major natural and historical sites in one continuous journey. If you have only a few days, a shorter tour would fit better. If you want to linger at any single location, this pace keeps moving.
