The experience
You start in Luanda, where the first day takes you through the country's cultural core: the National Coin Museum, the Armed Forces Museum, the Dr. António Agostinho Neto Memorial, and the Slavery Museum sit alongside the Miradouro da Lua viewpoint, the Iron Museum, and the coastal landscapes of Barra do Kwanza. This day sets the frame for what follows: a country's history and geography compressed into one afternoon before you move inland.
The next three days push deeper into Angola's interior. Malanje brings you to Kalandula Falls and the Black Stones of Pungo Andongo, rock formations that rise from the landscape with a presence the photographs don't quite capture. You also pass through Cangandala National Park, where the Giant Black Tamarin, a national symbol, lives. Benguela shifts the mood to the coast: Baía Azul and Praia Morena offer calm water, and the National Museum of Archaeology sits in the same province as Lobito Restinga, a stretch known for both its beauty and its food. Lubango closes on the highlands: Tundavala Gorge opens below you, the Huíla Waterfall flows nearby, and Serra da Leba viewpoint commands a view that justifies the drive. The hot springs at Mutipa offer a different kind of rest.
The final day takes you to Namibe, where the Namib Desert meets the ocean and Iona National Park holds the biodiversity that thrives in that collision. Amélia Beach provides a quiet close to the route, and the Port of Namibe anchors the province's economic story. Meals are included throughout, and you stay in a 5-star hotel during the nights away from Luanda. A live guide travels with the group and speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French and one more language, so the commentary reaches you in your own words.
