The experience
You arrive at Grama Bay in the morning and board a boat with a small group and an English or Italian-speaking guide. The day moves through six snorkeling stops across the Karaburun Peninsula's coast, each one a different underwater or geological setup: you'll enter the water at Haxhi Ali Cave to explore its formations, spend an hour at Dafina Bay, navigate the narrow gorge passages of Smugglers Canyon for thirty minutes, then move to Englishman Bay and its historic cave. The guide handles the route and timing. You handle entry into the water and the snorkeling itself.
The Seal Monk Blue Cave (also called Llovizi Bay) gets a full hour, and the Water Caves Gorge another thirty minutes of exploration in blue-tinted currents. Between stops the boat carries you along the coast. At Grama Bay itself you have two hours to choose: snorkel the reef, relax on the beach, eat at the beach restaurant, or hike thirty minutes to the Stone in the Sky viewpoint for a panoramic view of the bay. A sandwich, bottle of water and cold drink come with the day. Additional drinks can be purchased on board.
The eight-hour span means an early start and a full commitment to the water. Entry happens from the boat at each site, and the snorkeling itself is self-directed once you're in. The guide is there for safety and to point out marine life (Mediterranean Monk Seals, Carretta carretta Turtles, coral reefs) but you move at your own pace underwater. The boat returns to Grama Bay at the end of the day.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (5 to 9 years); Infant (1 to 4 years): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the Seal Monk Blue Cave actually like underwater?
The Seal Monk Blue Cave at Llovizi Bay is a sea cave with distinctive blue-tinted water caused by light filtering through the rock. You snorkel inside and around it for about an hour, with the guide present. Mediterranean Monk Seals do inhabit the area, though sightings are not guaranteed.
How do I get into the water at each stop?
You enter from the boat at each snorkeling site. The guide will brief you on entry and conditions before each stop. All six stops involve water entry. This is not a boat-only tour.
Is this snorkeling trip suitable for someone who's never snorkeled before?
The operator describes the experience as suitable for "adventurers of all levels," and children are welcome from age one (sitting on an adult's lap during boat travel). However, the tour is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnancy, and you should have a high level of physical fitness for the full eight-hour day and repeated water entries.
What happens during the two hours at Grama Bay at the end?
Grama Bay gives you a choice: snorkel the reef if you want more water time, relax on the beach, eat at the beach restaurant, or hike thirty minutes uphill to the Stone in the Sky viewpoint. The guide will be present but you decide how to spend the time.
