- Learn about the history of the Falls
- Walk vantage points across Knife Edge Bridge
The experience
Victoria Falls is 1.708 km wide and drops between 90 and 108 metres into the gorge, making it the largest falling curtain of water in the world. A professional guide meets you and drives you to the national park in an air-conditioned vehicle, then leads you on foot to the walkways and vantage points that cross the Knife Edge Bridge. During peak flow, the Zambian side is the most spectacular. The guide explains the geology and the history of the falls as you move between viewpoints, and you'll feel the towering column of spray when the river runs high.
The rain forest surrounding the falls exists year-round because of the constant spray, and plant species grow here that are rarely seen elsewhere in Zambia. Rain jackets are provided, and the walk takes you through this lush vegetation to different angles of the water. The tour covers both sides of the falls and lasts 5.5 hours total, including the drive and the time spent at each vantage point.
What’s included
- Bottled water and rain jackets to protect you from the spray.
- air-conditioned vehicle transport to and from the falls.
- professional guide in your choice of five languages.
- hotel or accommodation pickup.
