The experience
The tour starts in Da Lat's highlands and moves south toward the coast. Your first stop is a coffee farm where you taste what the guide calls the best coffee in the world, then a short drive brings you to taste fried crickets: a local snack most visitors skip on their own. From there, the route heads to Pongour Waterfall, 55 kilometers from Da Lat, where water drops nearly 40 meters over seven rock tiers. After Pongour, you continue to Elephant Waterfall, then pass a 73-meter Buddha statue and a silk workshop where you watch cocoons being processed.
The day ends in Mui Ne at the White Sand Dunes, where you trade the vehicle for an ATV and ride across the dunes yourself: the operator calls this the must-do moment of the tour. You can photograph the sweeping sandscapes, then either finish there or return to Da Lat. The entire journey takes around 7.5 hours including all travel time. Your guide speaks English and French, handles photography, and the vehicle stays air-conditioned throughout.
ATV riding costs extra (350,000 Vietnamese dong per person), and entrance fees to the sites are separate. Lunch is not included, so plan a meal stop in Mui Ne or bring food. The tour fits up to six passengers in one vehicle, and pickup from your Da Lat accommodation is included.
What’s included
- Private air-conditioned vehicle for the full day.
- bottled water.
- English and French-speaking guide who photographs you at stops.
- pickup from your Da Lat accommodation.
