You're picked up from your Hoi An or Da Nang hotel and taken by private speedboat to two snorkeling sites on Cham Island, with about an hour in the water at each stop. Lunch is a seafood BBQ on the beach, and you're back at your hotel by mid-afternoon. The private boat means no temple visits or market detours — just snorkeling, coral, and time to float.
Is this one for you?Book this if you want to snorkel Cham Island without the temple visits and market stops that shared tours include — the private speedboat is what makes that possible, and it's worth the extra cost if snorkeling is all you came for.
You're staying in Hoi An or Da Nang and have a free day, but you don't want to spend it on a crowded boat hitting temples and markets when you could be underwater. That's the whole point of this Cham Island private tour — the speedboat is yours alone, which means the itinerary doesn't have to serve forty other people or squeeze in a souvenir shop. Your guide picks you up from your hotel, takes you to Cua Dai quay for a quick registration, and then it's 25 minutes across open water to the first snorkeling site at Dai Island.
The snorkeling itself is split across two stops, each about an hour in the water. Dai Island has soft coral and smaller colorful fish; Tai Island, where you go next, has the harder coral formations and bigger schools. Between the two sites you'll get a chance to feed fish by hand if you want — it's one of those moments that feels stranger the more you think about it, but in the moment it's just there. Around 1 p.m. the speedboat takes you to Chong or Ong Beach, where lunch is a seafood BBQ cooked right there on the sand. You eat, rest, maybe swim again if you feel like it. The whole day wraps by 2:30 p.m. when you're back on the boat heading to shore.
The private speedboat does cost extra — 370 USD for the group — but that's the trade that lets you skip the temple visits and market stops that shared tours pack in. You get snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel, life jacket), bottled water on the drive out, and an English-speaking guide the whole time. Winter months (December through March) aren't ideal because the water gets cloudy and the fish don't show up as well, so plan this for the warmer half of the year if you can.
