The day starts at Yakel custom village, where your guide takes you through the settlement to watch traditional Tanna dances and see how residents live. The village has a documented connection to England (some residents have traveled there and met the king), and your guide can point them out. After an hour or so, you head to Lapilmai waterfall, which takes about an hour to reach. The waterfall drops 50 to 60 meters, and you get an hour to swim and photograph it before moving on to lunch in Lenakel.

At 2:30pm, the drive to Mt. Yasur begins. The volcano sits 2 hours away by road, so you arrive at the main entrance around 4:30pm for a short briefing from a volcano guide before heading to the rim. By 6pm, you're watching red lava come up from below as the light fades. Your hotel drop-off happens at 8pm, closing out a 12-hour day that splits into three distinct stops and two long stretches of driving.
