You’ll get to explore Zion National Park in a small group with an experienced guide who knows all the hidden spots. From dramatic canyon views to wildlife sightings and a laid-back picnic lunch, this tour is perfect if you want to escape Las Vegas for a day and really experience Utah’s wild beauty without any hassle.
The first thing I noticed as we left the Strip was how quickly the city faded into open desert. By the time we hit the Nevada-Utah border, the air felt cooler and you could smell sagebrush through the van’s cracked window. Our guide, Mark, kept things relaxed—he pointed out old mining towns and even played some local radio for us. There were just eight of us in the group, so it felt more like a road trip with friends than a big tour bus.
Rolling into Springdale, Utah, you start to see those red cliffs rising up out of nowhere. We stopped for photos right before entering Zion National Park—honestly, no picture does that first view justice. The drive through the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel was a highlight; it’s dark and narrow, but when you pop out on the other side, sunlight floods in and suddenly you’re surrounded by these massive sandstone walls.
We hopped on the park shuttle (in winter months you ride straight in with your guide), and cruised along what they call the Floor of the Valley Road. It’s quiet except for birds—one of us spotted a golden eagle overhead—and every turn brings a new angle of those cliffs. Mark knew all the best stops: he showed us where bighorn sheep sometimes graze near Big Bend, and we actually saw a few mule deer picking at grass by the riverbank. Lunch was simple but hit the spot—a turkey sandwich for me, eaten at a shaded picnic table while chipmunks darted around hoping for crumbs.
It’s about 2.5 to 3 hours each way depending on traffic and stops along the route.
You can choose from options like ham & cheese, turkey, Italian combo, veggie sandwich or garden salad—just let us know your preference when booking.
Yes! The pace is relaxed and specialized infant seats are available if needed. It’s great for all fitness levels.
You’ve got a good chance—our guide pointed out golden eagles, mule deer, and even some bighorn sheep during our visit.
