The Zoom call starts, and your Adventure Coach is already there—ready to send you hunting through your own home for props, costumes, and conversation starters that'll unlock points for your team. Kat Nelson, who founded Alley Kat Adventures in Austin, designed this virtual scavenger hunt to work whether you're playing with family across state lines, coworkers you've never met in person, or friends who just need a break from the usual. The game runs live, which means your coach is watching, reacting, laughing at your finds, and keeping the energy up the whole time.

What makes this different from a generic online game is that you're not staring at a screen solving puzzles—you're moving through your actual space, digging into closets, raiding the kitchen, pulling together outfits, and improvising on the fly. The missions test whatever you've got: artistic skills, trivia knowledge, styling ability, googling speed, collaboration, problem-solving, or just pure creativity. Your coach sees it all happen in real time and scores you on a live leaderboard, so there's real stakes and real laughs. Kat's background spans 14 years as a teacher, SAG acting credits, and leading marketing teams at Facebook and NVIDIA—she knows how to read a room (even a virtual one) and keep people engaged.

All you need is a Zoom account, a phone or WhatsApp number to connect with the coach, and whatever's already in your home. The hunt is flexible too—if you're having too much fun, you can extend it for free. You'll get a digital scavenger hunt document to guide you, plus photos and videos from the session so you actually have proof of the chaos and the wins.
