Sixty minutes to crack the code and escape together

The Escape Game The Colony is a puzzle-solving experience where teams of up to eight players (twelve in Playground) work together to find clues, solve puzzles and complete a mission inside a locked room within 60 minutes. A dedicated game guide leads your adventure and helps as needed. Seven themed games range from underwater laboratories and prison breaks to time travel and secret agent missions, each designed to be family-friendly and immersive without being dark or scary.

The Experience

You arrive at Grandscape, check in, and spend 15 minutes getting briefed on your mission before the guide locks the door behind your team. Then the clock starts. The next hour is yours to search for hidden clues, decode messages, manipulate objects and solve puzzles that unlock the next room or reveal the final piece. You're communicating constantly with your teammates, testing theories, and moving forward only when the logic clicks. The guide watches from outside and can offer hints if you get stuck, but the solving is all you.

Pick your game before you arrive. Prison Break is the most challenging—escape from an evil warden's cell block. The Depths takes you into an undersea laboratory hunting for secrets. Special Ops: Mysterious Market casts you as a secret agent uncovering the truth. Gold Rush sends you hunting for hidden gold in the California hills. Playground flips the script: complete your report card and earn summer break. Timeliner: Train Through Time asks you to save the future by riding a train through different eras. Cosmic Crisis puts you on a mission to destroy a black hole. Each one has multiple rooms, and all are completely family-friendly—no darkness, no jump scares, just the puzzle and the clock.

After 60 minutes, the guide brings you out, debriefs the experience, and gives you 15 minutes to take photos and wind down. The location sits at Grandscape next to restaurants like LSA Burger Co., Davio's, and Velvet Taco, so you can pair the escape room with a meal or make it part of a larger group outing. A live guide in English leads every game. An adult 18 or older must participate with anyone 14 and under, and players under 18 need an adult to sign their waiver. The games are recommended for ages 13 and up, though younger players can join if they're comfortable with the difficulty.

Top questions

What happens if my team can't solve a puzzle before time runs out?

The guide can offer hints as you play to help you progress, and you'll spend the full 60 minutes working through the puzzles. If you don't complete the entire mission, you still get the debrief and photos at the end—the goal is the challenge and the teamwork, not necessarily the escape.

Can I book a private game just for my group, or will strangers join us?

Unless you book all the spots in a game, other players can book into your game and join your team as part of a shared experience. If you want a completely private game, you'll need to reserve all available spots.

Are the escape rooms scary or dark?

No. The Escape Game experiences are designed to be exciting and adventurous without being scary or dark, making them suitable for all guests including families and younger players.

How much time should I plan for the whole visit?

Plan for about 90 minutes total: 15 minutes to prepare and get briefed before the game starts, 60 minutes inside the room solving puzzles, and 15 minutes after to debrief and take photos.

What if I need to leave the room during the game?

Every locked door is equipped with an exit button, so you can leave at any time if you need to. The guide can help you re-enter or adjust as needed.

Which game should I choose if this is my first escape room?

Any of the seven games work for first-timers. Special Ops: Mysterious Market, Gold Rush, and The Depths are popular entry points. Prison Break is the most challenging, so save that for a team with escape room experience.
