The experience
You start on land with a quick lesson on how to balance and navigate your board, then load up for a shuttle ride 4.5 miles upriver. From there you paddle back down at an easy pace, moving through Teton Valley with the Tetons in view the whole way. The river meanders enough to keep the paddle interesting without demanding hard effort. Most of the time you're just moving with the current and watching the banks for moose, beavers and trout.
The board itself is wide and stable: built to keep you upright even if you're new to paddleboarding. You get a paddle, a personal flotation device, and a small dry bag to stash your phone and keys. The shuttle at the end means you finish right at your vehicle instead of having to arrange a ride back, which saves the logistics most paddlers dread.
The whole outing runs about two and a half hours from start to finish. A guide is with you throughout, offering tips on the water and pointing out what to watch for. The pace is casual enough that you can take in the landscape without fighting the current.
