Step-by-step itinerary
Explore sandbars and wildlife
- Pick up from marina
- Travel to Snipe Keys sandbar
- Relax on beach or walk in water
- Paddle board or snorkel at sandbars
- Watch for dolphins, turtles, and birds
The experience
The guide picks you up from the marina and takes you straight to the Snipe Keys sandbar, where the water stays knee to ankle deep and clear enough to see the bottom. You can snorkel right there, paddle out on a board, or wade and explore on foot. The sandbar itself is the stop, not a checkpoint between other sites. Bring food or drinks if you want. A cooler with ice and bottled water is already on board.
Wildlife moves through these shallows constantly. Dolphins hunt the channels, sea turtles graze the seagrass, and fish scatter as you wade. The mangrove backcountry is where these animals actually live, not a viewing platform, so sightings depend on the day and the season, but the guide knows where to look and what to watch for. Three hours is long enough to snorkel, paddle, and sit on the sand without feeling rushed.
What’s included

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the water like at Snipe Keys sandbar?
The water at Snipe Keys stays knee to ankle deep with clear visibility, so you can see the bottom and the fish moving through it. It's shallow enough to wade and explore on foot, or deep enough to snorkel comfortably.
Do I need snorkeling experience to go?
No. The shallow water and the guide's presence make it suitable for all fitness levels, and snorkel equipment is included. If you've never snorkeled before, the sandbar's depth and calm conditions are forgiving.
What wildlife might I see?
Dolphins, sea turtles, fish, and birds move through the mangrove backcountry. Sightings vary by season and time of day, but the guide watches throughout the trip and knows where to position the boat for the best chance.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Yes. Bring any food or alcohol you want. A cooler with ice and bottled water is provided on the boat, so you don't need to pack your own water.
How long is the whole outing?
The trip runs three hours from pickup at the marina through the mangrove backcountry and back.
