The experience
The tour starts near the Skyway Bridge at Skyway Beach and follows dedicated paths for almost the entire ride: no car traffic, no navigating city streets. You control the pedal assist on the e-bike, so you can ride hard or coast easy depending on how you feel that day. Full instruction on the bikes is included, and if you can ride a traditional bicycle, you're ready to go. Helmets are sanitized and provided.
The middle stretch runs along the Skyway Trail itself, where the water views open up across Tampa Bay and Boca Ciega Bay. You'll pull into Maximo Park for a restroom stop and photo time, then continue to the historic Don CeSar Resort, the "Pink Palace", for a tour of the grounds. The final leg loops around Pass-a-Grille Beach before arriving at St. Pete Beach, where the ride ends at Andy's Ice Cream Parlor inside the Don CeSar Hotel. You can sit on the beach with your cone and watch the water.
Bottled water and a saddle bag for your personal items come with the tour. The guide narrates the area as you ride and points out photo stops along the way. Children as young as 16 are welcome, and the pace suits all fitness levels as long as you're comfortable on a bike.
