The experience
The tour leaves Seward and heads north toward Anchorage, building the day around three distinct stops. Exit Glacier comes first, where you walk the short, wheelchair-accessible Glacier View Trail for direct views of the glacier itself. The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center follows. A 200-acre facility where you can walk or drive a 1.5-mile loop to see bears, moose, bison, musk oxen, elk, caribou, eagles and wolves in naturalistic enclosures. Guided tours and feeding sessions run throughout the day if you want deeper context on the animals and conservation work.
Beluga Point, the final major stop, sits on the water where belugas chase salmon during incoming tides in late summer and early fall. The spot is also known for Dall sheep visible on the cliffs above and for mountain-and-water views that draw photographers, especially near sunset. A small parking area and interpretive signs make it accessible for birdwatching and nature walks, and binoculars help with spotting. Your guide provides professional photographs from the day's stops.
Pickup happens at your cruise ship in Seward. Drop-off is at your Anchorage hotel. The full route takes six to eight hours. All entrance fees and water are included. The tour suits all fitness levels and welcomes children from age five.
