- Have lunch in Jerome restaurant
- Visit wine tasting rooms in Jerome
The experience
You're picked up from your hotel or home and driven to Page Springs Road, where four of the region's five vineyards sit within reach of Oak Creek. Your guide chooses two vineyards based on what you want to taste, whether that's the award-winning Arizona wines at Javelina Leap, the log-cabin setting and tree swing at DA Ranch, the 17 varietals and Verde River views at Alcantara, or the casual tasting room at Oak Creek where weekend visitors can try wine cocktails and sangrias. Each stop includes tastings and time to linger over the landscape.
After the vineyards, you head up the mountain to Jerome, once called the "Wickedest City in the West." This old copper mining town sits full of history, shops, and vista views. Your guide takes you on a short exploration before you choose where to have lunch (options include Clinkscale, The Haunted Hamburger, Vaqueros Grill and Cantina, or Cornish Pasty), and the vineyard prepares your meal to pair with the wines you'll taste. Jerome has several tasting rooms: Caduceus Cellars, The Original Jerome Winery, Vino Zone, and Passion Cellars all pour flights and glasses. The whole day runs five to seven hours depending on how long you linger at each stop.
This is a private tour, so the route and stops adjust to what you want to see and taste. Your guide also acts as photographer for the day. Pets are welcome. Bottled water is provided throughout, and the minimum age is 21.
