The experience
You launch from the calm waters at Coronado Ferry Landing and paddle out onto San Diego Bay in a sit-on-top kayak: single, double or triple, your choice. The route traces the downtown skyline and the bay's working waterfront: you'll pass under the Coronado Bridge's graceful curve, paddle past the USS Midway, Petco Park and the Convention Center, and see Naval Station North Island and Glorietta Bay from the water. The guide points out the city's architecture and maritime history as you go, and the paddle stays leisurely enough that you can take it in.
All kayaking equipment comes with you (kayak, paddle, life jacket and helmet), and the tour includes a paddle lesson at the start, so you don't need any prior experience. The group stays small at a maximum of 10 guests, and you'll get wet from the waist down, so wear active or swim clothes. If you're bringing a dog, the operator provides a free dog life vest.
What’s included
- All kayaking equipment (kayak, paddle, life jacket and helmet).
- paddle instruction at the start.
